Garden Time

Wanted to offer a thought or two about being ale to work in a garden on a lovely day. Gratitude is the first thought. There is something so real and wholesome about growing food. Something that connects me back to being a human life being n this planet. It also highlights the incredible pattern and harmonies of life.

I weeded a lot today, whatever that means. I kept most of the dandelions in the ground though. Weed is such a strange concept, some very useful and thriving plants a re called weeds. They then don’t get the consideration they deserve for their benefits to us and the world. They are nutritive, beautiful and adaptive. They can stay. But I got a lot of the grass out of some beds and planted a bunch of seeds. It is always exciting to see the sprouts pop up and begin to turn into actual plants and food.

I went out into the garden today with a very positive and present attitude. I felt grateful and joyous to be able to work in a garden and to have such a space. I loved being outside and connecting to the work of growing food. It is not at all an Artless activity, either. The colors, the patterns, the forms, all harken to Art and Artful thinking. If we all begin to appreciate the color and form of things, including our gardens, we will be connecting to consciousness itself. Gardening is not just for the body anymore…
