Drawing is a fundamental aspect of Artmaking, but is often considered to be a stepping stone to painting. I aim to render drawings that have a power, movement, and composition that, while carrying the distinct qualities of drawing, harken the fullness and color of painting. These drawings are of various mediums, including pen, marker, pastels, oil pastels, pencil and colored pencil. Some of these include all of the above.
Performance Drawings
I spent years drawing musicians and performers at concerts, open mics, and various events. It is an engaging way for an Artist to experience the live music of other creators. I have been told by many different performers how much it means to them to have someone make Art of their own Artistic contributions. Most of these drawings are quick, gestural and intuitive. This is a small sampling, more to come…
Buckethead 6/17/26 at Meow Wolf
It has been a minute since I have been to a show to sketch the performer. When I saw that Buckethead, a guitarist and performer I admire, was playing at Meow Wolf, an Artful venue I fell in love with during my recent trip to Santa Fe, I had to go draw him. It was an excellent show and a fun time.
