Landscape Diary

Over the years I have accumulated many paintings of my travels. Whether they are from a foreign country, or the beautiful parks of my own backyard, these Plein Air paintings chronicle the majesty of the outdoor experience. Some are quick studies while others are rendered with greater detail. I have aimed to capture the moment of each scene I was engaged with and the ambiance of that moment in time. Included are paintings from Japan, Iceland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Alaska, and more. I have enjoyed biking along the many river paths in my home of Eugene Oregon and painting the lovely scenes along the way.

Painting outside and in public can be a great way to engage with the world. If I am alone connecting to nature through Artmaking or speaking with the many folks who approach me during the process, I find it very fulfilling to have that interaction with my world. People are often intrigued to see an Artist at work and can find it to be a source of inspiration for their own lives. I encourage all Artists to spend some time working in a public space.
